Hello Eagle Crest Families,

It's that time of year when there is a lot going on!

We want to let you know that we will be sending out the newsletter the first and third Thursdays of the month instead of weekly.  Any special notices will go out in an announcement with one clear focus if needed.  An example would be a conference reminder to sign up.  We hope this streamlines the news you receive from us.  If there is someone you know who is not receiving the newsletter emails, please have them contact the office as this is how we communicate with you.

Conferences are approaching and you should have received an email invite last Friday, the 22nd.  Please contact your teacher if you did not receive this email.  It is very important to us that we have everyone sign up and meet with their child's teacher as it takes all of us working as a team to educate our students.

October 2nd is our official count day.  We need all students to attend on this day.  Please schedule all appointments away from this date.

Inclement weather is upon us and we want you to be prepared.  Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for the day.  Doors open promptly at 8:35 for the first bell, 8:10 for breakfast and at the scheduled time for extra morning activities. Please do not drop them off early as there is no adult supervision for them and we want to keep the students safe. Please allow enough time for students to walk to their designated door during certain weather conditions. We will allow students to wait in the gym when the weather is below 15 degrees or if it is raining (not drizzling, misting or snowing).  Thank you for your help.

Eagle Crest students did a wonderful job running last week!

Thanks to all staff for their tremendous support, to the volunteers who helped during the event, and to all the families and friends who have donated so far.

We have a long way to go to meet our fundraising goal of $25,000. Don’t forget to turn in your pledge envelope and money before October 6th!! If any of your donors have problems with the PayPal link, please send this one and ask that they try again:

If you have questions, please email

Health Office Protocol – How our office works
We hope that you are having a good school year so far.  We would like to let you know how our office works and, how we are best able to help your child.  The health office is for kids who are truly feeling sick or are injured. Minor ailments or cuts can be washed and taken care by child in the classroom – each classroom has a first aid box with band aids, this is to cut down on time missed in class.
Many students and parents think that we are a nurse and visit our office requesting diagnosis of aches, pains, sickness and ailments.  Since we are NOT NURSES (please do not refer to us as nurses) the only options we can offer is for them to call home, have medication brought to school and given by parents or to go home.  If a student chooses not to call home, they can rest in our office for 5-10 minutes then return to class.
We are very limited with what we can provide students.  Items we have on hand include band aides, ice bags, contact solution, Vaseline and a thermometer.  We can distribute medicine ONLY when the parent has provided the medicine along with a Permission to Medicate form signed by the physician.  We cannot provide over the counter medication, ointments, hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, sports tape, splints or wraps for injuries.
The largest part of our job is health record/data management, vision and hearing screening,   immunization compliance for each student and diabetes management.
If a student vomits or has a fever higher than 100 degrees, we call parents and can send them home.  It is up to the parent to excuse them for the absence.  Students can wait in our office until their parent arrives for pick up.  We hope this helps to understand Health Office protocol, please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. 303 485-6073
Hope you have a safe and healthy school year!
